This Daugherty family tree can be found mostly in the hills of northeast Tennessee, Anderson county, Claiborne county, and Campbell county to be more specific. The furthest ancestor that I can reasonably go back to is Daniel Daugherty (b. 1798, d. 20 Dec 1882). He was born in South Carolina and settled in Anderson county, Tennessee in the New River area.
Children from this union:
Ell Daugherty (1815-1875), married Nancy Arthur. Ell and Nancy are my 4th great grandparents.
James Daugherty (1819-bef. 1880), married Melvina West in Feb 1842 in Anderson county, Tennessee.
Solomon Daugherty (1820-unk.), married Thursday Ann Henderson in Oct. 1840 in Anderson County, Tennessee.
Joshua Jourdan Daugherty (1825-1862), married Permely J. LNU.
Noah Daugherty (1826-1882), married Barbara Patterson in March 1843 in Anderson County, Tennessee. He later married Mary Polly White (1834-unk.) in March 1865 in Anderson County, Tennessee. There were children from both unions.
Elisha Daugherty (1830-1869), married Nancy LNU.
Jesse Daugherty (1834-unk.), married Tabitha Trammell in Nov 1855 in Scott county Tennessee.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ell Daugherty, the first-born of Daniel and Sarah Daugherty, married Nancy Arthur.
Children from this union:
Mary Jane Daugherty (1832-unk.), married Green Berry Boswell in 1858.
William Daugherty (1833-bef. 1900), married Martha Daugherty in April 1852 in Anderson county, Tennessee. I haven't been able to find her parents, yet. However, many public trees on Ancestry have her father as Asa and Mary Daugherty. They had a daughter named Patsy, the same age and in the same area. Although these two Daugherty families intermarried several times, I have not yet been able to link them with a common ancestor.
Daniel Daugherty (1836-1876), married Susan Marlow, daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Ward) Marlow, in Oct 1855 in Campbell county, Tennessee.
